Post

Describe…Required. This is the title of the book, article, video, announcement, event, newsfeed, newsletter, organization, website, etc. Do not include the "subtitle" (after the ":").
Describe…Required. Enter the publish date for the book, article, or video. Tip: if the date is many years in the past, click on the calendar icon, select any date, then edit the date in the field. You might need to "dig" to find the actual date. For a book, you could go to a site that sells the book to get the publish date. For temporary posts, such as events or announcements, put in a future publish date that has the desired "lead-time" before the event. If you cannot find the date for this item, enter the date you saw it.
Describe…Date when you saw the item. This could also be the date when the item was archived. See the "Archive Link" field.
Describe…Only define this for temporary posts, such as events, announcements, or current news. Usually, the date would be a day or two after the event.

The "Visual" mode is the best mode for cut/pasting content.
Describe…Required. This is the main post content. Use Visual mode to cut/paste text, images, and links from other sites. Please do not cut/paste whole articles; use Link and Archive Links to point to a complete article. Of course, full original articles or announcements can be posted here, but this form is mainly for references to other items. You can include text with links to reviews, author interviews, videos, and other related items. Or, if those items are important on their own, you can make them their own post. Optionally, you can save the editor's time by making them "proper" links with a title for the URL. You can include video links (which will be expanded to embedded videos, if YouTube or Vimeo). Put the Title of the video before the link. And put the link on the next line. The item's "main" image is usually put at the top. You can cut/paste the image from anywhere, or you can upload images. See the "Images" field below. This content is a rough draft for the post. If you see things that might need fixing, such as missing Tags or Categories, leave a "Note to the editor."
Describe…Required. At least one category must be selected. Select all the media types that are in this post. If you look at the left panel, you can see the categories that have been used by other posts. The complete list of categories can be found at Categories and Tags/ If you need help with the categories, see the Using AI to Categorize Articles and Books page.
Describe…Select zero or more tags that relate to the post. Here are some important tags: feature - Put this on posts that you want to "feature" event - Put this on posts for future events. Be sure to set the Expire Date. news - Put this on current news events. Put an Expire Date on news that will have little value in the future. If you don't see a tag you really need, leave a "Note to the editor."
Describe…Click the "Browse" button to upload an image. Only select one from your local disc. If you cannot figure out how to get an image for the article downloaded to your computer, were you able to cut/paste the image into the content area? Leave a "Note to Editor" about any image problems. The first uploaded image will be used as the post's "feature image." The feature image should have an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9. If you want to "pad" images to fit, see the Sizing Graphics/ page for help. If you don't want to resize images, that is OK, the editor can fix the images. Only jpg, jpeg, png, and svg images can be used. webp images will need to be converted. If you have more than one image (or a file), use the "Add another file" link.
